Join Museum of Glass for Movies in the Cone! On October 23, during Halloween month, we will be showing The Ring. Stick around after the showing for a discussion hosted by Professor Jennifer Myers Baran, Teaching Professor, Culture, Arts, and Communication, University of Washington, Tacoma. Additionally, Museum staff member Linnea Thorpe will host a talk on true crime and paranormal local history. Food and drinks will be available from Sliced Sandwiches until 6pm and concessions will be offered in the Museum’s Grand Hall. Doors to the Hot Shop open at 5:30pm.

About Movies in the Cone
Cinema is one of the most influential myth-making systems of the modern era. It shapes how we see outsiders, heroes, and ghosts. Movies in the Cone is a new Museum of Glass program that each year will explore a common theme in cinema. This year’s Movies in the Cone will focus on Women, Myth, and Media through the films Bend it Like Beckham, Frida, The Ring, and Galaxy Quest. Each viewing will explore how women and cultural outsiders confront and reshape the systems that attempt to define them. Full schedule below.
