About the Gallery Transformation

In April of 2026, Museum of Glass began construction on the first capital renovation project in its history.

This project was informed by years of experience and insight into what the Museum’s constituents need and expect from the institution. With the conclusion of this project on December 12, Museum of Glass will have modernized its gallery spaces to present a more thorough, interdisciplinary perspective on the art form. Additionally, the Museum’s gallery footprint will be expanded to include the immersive new Lino Tagliapietra Legacy Gallery, honoring the world’s foremost glassblower. The gallery’s first exhibition, Lino Tagliapietra: Maestro will debut on December 12.

Although our new galleries will be complete on December 12, the Museum’s Curatorial Team will continue to develop new exhibitions in the spaces throughout the spring of 2027.

Stay tuned for more details about the exhibitions joining Lino Tagliapietra: Maestro in February, March, and May.

Lino Tagliapietra Celebration Week

January 20-24

With the new gallery spaces and Lino Tagliapietra Legacy Gallery opening on December 12, Museum of Glass invites you to a special week of programming honoring the legacy gallery’s cornerstone artist! The Museum Hot Shop will feature a different artist from Lino’s glassblowing team every day, demonstrating the techniques and inspirations they have gained from years of working with Lino. A special artist panel with the artists and Lino Tagliapietra Legacy Gallery curator Susan Warner will be held on Saturday, January 23 at 1pm, where they will discuss Lino’s career and his unparalleled impact on glassmaking in the Pacific Northwest.
