Planned Giving

We hope you will consider making Museum of Glass part of your legacy. A planned gift, or bequest, becomes a part of your estate and provides sustaining benefits to the Museum. Please consider MOG in your long-term plans, so together, we can shape the future of glass.

Making a legacy gift can be as easy as designating Museum of Glass as the beneficiary on:

  • Life insurance policies

  • Individual retirement accounts or employer-sponsored retirement plans

  • Brokerage accounts

  • Checking or savings accounts

Fuel Their Fire

This unique opportunity enables you to sponsor an artist and provide them with the means to create new concepts and forms in glass. Fuel Their Fire sponsors grant the artist five days in the Hot Shop at Museum of Glass, with a world-class team of glassblowers, two days of cold-working, equipment and supplies, and hotel accommodations. Artists retain all the work produced, except for two pieces; one is kept for the Museum’s Collection, and one piece goes home with the sponsor.

Fundraising Events

Museum of Glass hosts a number of special programs and events throughout the year. Your attendance and support at these fundraisers and community events contribute to specific programming and operation needs at MOG. Our signature annual events include:

Program Support

Through numerous programs, Museum of Glass strives to increase glass art awareness and appreciation for students of all ages. Gifts can be made to support a specific program, or collectively to support educational programming at the Museum. These programs range from activities for school-age youth and families to providing hands-on opportunities with glass for people of all ages.

Matching Gifts

Many employers offer a way to enhance your giving through a matching gifts program. When combined with your donation, this program can increase your contribution to Museum of Glass. Don't forget, buying a membership counts as a donation and qualifies to be matched! The matching gift does not change your membership level, but rather encourages additional support of the arts.

You’ll want to contact your employer’s Community Relations or Human Resources department to verify that a matching gifts program exists. If offered, they will provide you with simple steps to follow.  Mail any correspondence to Development, Museum of Glass, 1801 Dock Street, Tacoma, WA 98402 or email us.

One Time Donation

As a non-profit institution, MOG depends on support from ticket and membership sales, grants, and general donations to help bring a world-class experience to our visitors. Any donation, large or small, contributes to MOG's exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and programs like Science of Art, Hot Shop Heroes, Kids Design Glass, and of course, the Visiting Artist Residency program. With your help, MOG can continue to achieve its mission to ignite creativity, fuel discovery, and enrich lives through glass and glassmaking.

Endowment

Museum of Glass is honored to have the backing and support of the Weyerhaeuser family. This philanthropic group has been extremely generous in establishing the George H.
