Every year the cone at MOG is filled with holiday magic during our annual Fire + Ice Festival! From mid-November through the New Year, we celebrate the holiday season with a variety of themed activities, performances, and demonstrations for visitors of all ages. 

2018 holiday schedule

November 10 - 11:

  • Member Double Discount Days - Members enjoy an additional 10% off in the Store

November 15:

  • Third Thursday (5-8pm) - Sketch a cornucopia still life then watch Hilltop Artists in the Hot Shop

November 17-18:

  • Tack Fusing Workshop (11am-4pm) - Create your own fused glass art! $29 non-members/$26 MOG members

November 18:

  • Tack Fusing Workshop (1-5pm) - Create your own fused glass art! $29 non-members/$26 MOG members

  • Jazz and Glass - University of Puget Sound’s Small Jazz Ensemble will perform at 2pm

  • MOG & Grog (12-5pm) - Shop local artists and artisans in our Grand Hall while you sip festive libations. Museum admission is only $5 all day!

  • Family Day (1-4pm) - Create a own honeycomb book inspired by Foraging the Hive and write your 2019 goals

  • Fusing Workshop (11am-4pm) - Create your own fused glass art! $29 non-members/$26 MOG members

  • Paul and Phyllis Twedt’s Holiday Musicale will perform at 11am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm

  • Coffee with a Curator (10:30am-12pm) - Join Miranda Belarde-Lewis for a, private tour and discussion of the Museum’s newest exhibition, Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight. Get your tickets here!

  • Blow Your Own Workshop - Make your own glass ornament with Hilltop Artists. $60 non-members/$45 members

  • Mosaic Workshop (1-5pm) - Create your own colorful mosaic. $29 non-members/$26 MOG members

  • Glass From the Past - Learn about the history of glass with artist and historian Walter Lieberman at 2pm

  • Third Thursday (5-8pm) - Watch Hilltop Artists in the Hot Shop and holiday films in the Theater. Then tack fuse your own snowflake ornament in the Ed Studio. $12/snowflake or $20 for two.

December 22:

  • Fire & Ice Hot Shop Demonstration - MOG’s all-star Hot Shop team will create arctic animals from molten glass

December 23:

  • Glass From the Past - Learn about the history of Venetian glass with artist and historian Walter Lieberman at 2pm

December 24-25: Museum Closed

December 26-28:

  • Blow Your Own Bananza! - Make your own glass ornament, snowman, or paperweight with Hilltop Artists. $60 non-members/$45 members

December 29:

  • Kids Design Glass
