Shayna Leib first fell in love with glassblowing at age seven. She uses glass in her sculptures for its unique properties: its inclination to flow, the capacity to freeze a moment in time, and its ability to manipulate optics. An avid scuba diver, Leib’s work is inspired by the ocean, and uses the unique properties of glass to capture the ebb and flow of life under water. This is Leib’s first in the Hot Shop, and she will be collaborating with the Hot Shop Team to experiment with a new body of work.
This Fuel Their Fire Residency is possible with the generous support of Mary Devlin and Barrio Glassworks.
