Foraging the Hive Makers Party

Contribute to a community installation that complements our newest exhibition, Foraging the Hive, opening May 26.

When: Friday, May 25 | 4:30-6:30pm | Free admission
Where: MOG Education Studio
What: Bring items from home to fill your very own test tube or use materials available at MOG. Items need to be smaller in diameter than 0.705 inches (17.91 mm); basically the size of a dime. And, they cannot be longer than 5 inches in length. You can also add your initials to the cork as the tube is sealed with wax.
Who: You, your friends, and a little imagination!

Artists Tyler Budge and Sara Young have created a collaborative exhibition, Foraging the Hive, which is inspired by the inner-workings of a beehive. Their gallery installation will be composed of approximately 8,000 test tubes suspended in a swarm-like configuration, where each tube is filled with small sculptures that mean something personal to the artists. Just as bees collect nectar to make honey, the artists have collected materials and objects from their own environment.
