something for everyone

education studio workshops

There’s always something to do in the Education Studio. Hands-on projects for children of all ages are available each day the Museum is open. Supplies and instructions are found stationed in the studio. Looking for something more? Join us for a workshop and let your creativity take the lead. From fusing to mosaics, we offer an opportunity for everyone to experience glassmaking.

kids design glass

Kids can ignite their creativity by submitting a drawing to our Kids Design Glass™ program! Children 12 and under are invited to create a drawing along with the story that inspired it, for our Hot Shop Team to make out of glass. One drawing is selected per month and the artist is invited to witness their creation come to life. The Hot Shop Team makes two sculptures: one for the Museum’s Collection, and one for the child to take home.

Blow Your Own workshops

You, too, can be a glass artist! This is your chance to work on the Hot Shop floor with assistance from Hilltop Artists. Every month features a different object and provides visitors with an opportunity to create their own glass masterpiece.

Artist Discussions

Hear from an artist whose just completed a Visiting Artist Residency during our Sunday Shop Talks, or have a discussion with makers and experts on topics related to our current exhibitions at an upcoming Glass Break. Check the calendar for upcoming artist talks.

family days

The second Saturday of each month is a great day to visit the Museum. There is a special hands-on art activity and often a performance in the Grand Hall from a local music or dance group. Plus, for an additional cost, you can make your own fused glass tile in the Education Studio.

Third Thursdays

On the third Thursday of every month, Museum of Glass is open late, 5-8pm, with no admission fees. Stop in to see Hilltop Artists in the Hot Shop, explore our current exhibitions, and discover special hands-on projects in the Education Studio, available for a small donation.
