The Museum of Glass invites artists to apply for an Application Residency in the Hot Shop. We have a limited number of residency dates available in 2010.
Residency Details
- Open to artists with at least 5 years experience working with the medium of glass.
- Artists work up to five days in the Hot Shop.
- Artists work in full view of Museum visitors during the hours that the Museum is open to the public (Wednesday – Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday, noon to 5 pm).
- Museum offers exclusive use of the Hot Shop and provides support of a 3-person Hot Shop Team.
- Artists provide bio, resume, artist statement, residency statement, photos of the artist working and artwork images for publication with their application.
- Conversation with the Artist: Artists present a public lecture with a 5-day residency ONLY (Sunday, 2 pm)
- Artists retain ownership of the work created during the residency.
- The Museum offers two days of basic cold-working during the residency.
- Artists are responsible for travel, accommodations, color, special order materials, packing, insurance and shipping of artwork.
- Artists donate one piece to the Museum’s annual auction.
- Please note: Stipend and accommodations are not available for the Application Residency.

Mail the following information on CD ONLY (MS Word documents and JPG image files PLEASE):
- Name, Address, Phone, Email
- Artist statement, artist bio and resume
- Residency statement (500 words or one typewritten page outlining what you want to accomplish and why?)
- Two images of artist at work (300 dpi)
- Six images of recent work (300 dpi)
- Image information: Title, Year, Medium, Credit Line
