The world’s greatest living glassblower

Lino Tagliapietra is revered as the maestro of glassblowing and one of the key players of the early Studio Glass movement. It was Lino who came to the fledgling Pilchuck Glass School in 1979 and shared with American glassmakers his vast knowledge gained from years of work in the Murano glass community. This act began a chain reaction of shared knowledge that universally elevated the art and craft of glassmaking and changed the course of contemporary glass.

Don't miss your opportunity to see this master at work as Lino comes to the Museum Hot Shop for a Visiting Artist residency. Learn more about the Museum’s exhibition, Lino Tagliapietra in Retrospect: A Modern Renaissance in Italian Glass.
