Junior Curator Assignment

MODERN DAY SUPERHERO

For this week’s Junior Curator assignment we’ll research the origins of superheroes. Start by looking up TV Tropes - Superhero Origins online, they have 10 scenarios listed. After you have studied these and others you can find, you get to invent your own superhero! Remember a superhero is a force for good in the world. What will your superhero do to support humanity right now, in this time and place? What kind of superhero do we need?

Email your completed assignment to juniorcurator@museumofglass.org and you will receive a sticker from Museum of Glass to work on achieving Junior Curator status! We will post it next to Nancy Callan’s piece Captain America II in our upcoming virtual gallery.

Key Terms

Parents and teachers are urged to use this glossary in conjunction with the episode, Captain America II, to impart lessons that follow Washington State education standards. Watch and listen with your Junior Curator scholar and help them to identify these words during the show.
